THE HOUSE BEHIND THE VESTS
An American leather house, since 1906.
Scully has been making leather for more than a century: flight jackets and helmets for pilots in both World Wars, and gear for Admiral Byrd's Antarctic expedition. A few of those pieces now sit in the Smithsonian.
The family is still at it, four generations in. We chose the modern side of the line: quilted leather vests, suede jackets and leather travel goods. Mauritius, our German leather house, adds the textured leather shirt.
