A Bag Concept

Before handbags, Madilyn was an architectural designer who specialized in psychiatric spaces. Her work rested on the belief that thoughtful form can change how people act and feel. She planned every floor around structure, how people move, and how light falls.

When she found a handbag supplier in London whose craftsmanship matched her values, she brought that design language to the bag. She elevated the silhouette, refined the geometry, and added the structural knot that became A Bag Concept's signature.

A Bag Concept was founded in Woodstock, Georgia, and still builds its community there. It stands for empowering women, sustainability (a washable bag that lasts means less waste) and community connection.

Through its Shop Small program it spotlights other small businesses:

• Noteworthy Candle Co.: non-toxic soy candles, started by an owner whose COVID-related respiratory complications led her to make a candle brand for people with asthma.
• CB Grey: silk accessories from Atlanta artist Courtney Buchanan, each design telling a real woman's story.
• Daisy Jane Designs: preserved botanical art, handmade by Emily.
• Floofball: soccer-inspired dog toys that build community around pets and sport.
• Minga: pottery that blends science and art.
